Well where to start - As far back as I can remember I have always had musical talent. I remember playing Twinkle Twinkle Little Star on my mothers Magnum Organ when I was around 4. I started playing the Clarinet in 2nd grade, and was playing in the Jr. High School Band, because normally, 2nd graders are playing toinette's and melodians. I also learned to play the accordion while in elementary school, which I dropped like a hot potato, as soon as I found out it wasn't cool. However, now it's way cool to hear accordions played now, so I have picked it back up, however I have lost a lot of time and need lots of practice. My talent comes from my mother who played the accordion and sang like a bird. She even had her own Radio show at one time, on a radio station in Baytown, Texas. So time marches and life happens, for about 25 years the only thing I would play is the radio or my stereo. Loved music but had no time for playing an instrument and there was no avenue or outlet to play music. God was a mere faint memory and not really part of my life. Well you know God, he got my attention. Without going into much detail, I sank quicker than the Titanic. In fact I was waiting on my sinking ship when it got there. Now . . . I want to point out . . . God didn't sink me, I sank myself. But He was there with me all the way down. That's when he introduced me to the Harmonica. God and his Harmonica saved my life. I drowned myself in harmonica music and learned quickly, and after wearing out several sets of lips, I can clearly remember hearing his voice when he said to me, "NOW GO AND PLAY IN MY CHURCHES". And that's what I have been doing since 2001. I love playing for GOD. It is my joy to play for GOD. I have a son, Hadyn, whom I am very proud of. He's grown and making a life for himself. I found an awesome, awesome person, whom I snatched up and married. Her name is Darlene. Life is so very good now. Thank you Jesus!

Oh and by the way our talents really come from GOD. He just lets us borrow them for awhile...

"I think the most thrilling experience is someone receiving Christ as their Savior..."
Jennifer loves to sing! She has been singing for almost 18 years now, and has enjoyed it immensely.
Nothing compares to gospel singing, especially when you're in a harmonizing group.
It is so much fun! My family has always been involved in music programs at every church we've ever attended, and we never have regretted it.
You don't regret anything you do for Jesus.

I have been involved  with music in some way, shape and form most of my life, but until I met Jesus, I never knew how beautiful music could sound.  I was involved with rock and roll for over 15 years until I received Jesus as my Lord and Savior in 1983.  I then told the Lord if He wanted me to I would play music for Him, I would, and if He didn't, that would be ok too.  Richard and I have been married for 35 years now.  We have two grown daughters, Jennifer Lee Hensley Kahler, and Kathryn Rebekah (Kati) Hensley.  Richard is pastor of Eminence Baptist Church and we have been there for 15 years.  God has not only allowed me to play and sing music for Him, but to my delight, I have been able to sing with my family.  That is just like Jesus, isn't it?  To give us the desires of our hearts!  He is now giving me songs to pen, and I am thrilled that He would honor me with this service!  I am excited about the "New" Voices of Praise Ministries and am anticipating great times with Jesus in the days to come!

Because of Jesus...

It is a blessing to be able to sing gospel music and meet new believers in Christ who enjoy gospel music. I have been in the ministry for twenty-five years and am currently Pastor of Eminence Baptist Church, where we have been allowed to minister for fifteen years. I love and enjoy singing with family and friends because it lifts my spirit and ministers to my soul. Our number one desire at VOP Ministries is that Christ will be lifted up so that all men see His great gift of grace. We love to sing because of His unfailing love!
